We decided we were going to buy a new house. I wondered how we would decide which one was right for us. Then I had the idea to hand it over to source, to the divine. I always get just the right thing when I do that.
So I said to Matt, "The perfect house for us will have sunflowers in it. We will know it by the sunflowers." Over the next few months we looked at a lot of houses. Every house I was on a sunflower hunt but there were none anywhere. One house we thought could be good but no sunflowers. So it was a no from us.
Then one week a friend who is a real estate agent said, "We have an open house on Saturday go and look." It wasn’t in an area we really wanted to move to but it had a studio and was on the flat and close to where we wanted so we thought we’d just go see.
On the Saturday we walked into the open house. The house was ok. It didn’t wow us. Then we walked out onto the back deck and there was a huge vase of sunflowers on the table. I looked at Matt and he looked at me. This one? Really? We went into the studio which was nice. But It was different than we thought we’d buy.
As we came out the real estate said if we wanted it we’d have to put in an offer that day as he already had two other offers. They were going to do a blind bid, with two chances and the highest offer would get it.
We were in shock! But there were sunflowers. So we decided to bid. Our first bid was the lowest. We had to bid again. By the end of the day on Saturday we’d made a second bid with a totally random figure on the end... like $11.44 cents and had to wait until Sunday to find out if we had won.
Sunday the call came to say we did win and we went into shock. What did we do!!!? We bought a house because of sunflowers. Did we like it? We only saw if for about 30mins. So I decide to ask if we can have another look through at the end of the week. We have a week cooling off period. I say to source, “If this is the right house for us I want more sunflowers”.
We go into the house on Friday and there on the table is another fresh bunch of sunflowers. We look at each other and say “ok, I guess this is it.” We decide to drive down the two streets nearby and in three gardens there are rows of sunflowers. We never saw them before and we’ve never seen them again. We laughed and laughed and laughed. “Ok source we get it.”
And even though we probably wouldn’t have bought this house without the sunflowers it has been the perfect house for us. The house has been perfect for things we didn’t know we’d be doing like meditation groups and big family parties. And we love this area more than we loved where we were before.
Tip: Most times logic really doesn’t know best. Source always knows what’s perfect for you even if you can’t see it.
